Amitabh is having a great time in KBC - Kaun Banega Crorepati.
It has been revealed that Amitabh Bachchan will be paid Rs 2.25 crore per episode of KBC..That’s quite a payday for Big B especially when the total payout will be close to nearly Rs 40 crore.
"When Amitabh Bachchan was approached for the show, the channel and the production house expected the payment figures to be big," revealed a source. "Negotiations started with Rs 4 crore per episode and ended at about Rs 2.25 crore. The channel decided to invest big money to create maximum buzz."

This deal lands Amitabh the plaudit of being the highest paid host on Indian TV, overtaking Salman Khan, Shahrukh Khan and Akshay Kumar who get paid Rs1 crore each per episode of 'Dus Ka Dum', ‘Panchvi Pass’ and ‘Khatron Ka Khiladi’ respectively.
The groundbreaking star was also the first ever celebrity host on Indian screens when he played quizmaster on the hit show Kaun Banega Crorepati.

Big Boss-III, Paa, Johnny Mastana, Rann... at 67 you are having the busiest phase of your career?
Kya Maloom kya hai. I don’t look at it as it being the busiest phase or the best phase of my career. I just hope people come forward and give me an opportunity to work. I like working. There have been many opportunities even in the past when I have done several films together. It is just coincidence that all these films have been clubbed together this time around also. Actually, because of the multiplex strike, all of these movies are releasing back-to-back.
Ram Gopal Varma says that there will be temples built in your name after seeing your spell-binding performance in Paa.
It is very kind of Ramu to say something like this. But I haven’t seen Paa myself. I know that when we were shooting for Rann at Subhash Ghai’s institute, Ramu went along with Abhishek and Vidya Balan and saw some portions. Perhaps that’s why he said whatever it is that you say.
Currently all four members of the Bachchan family — you, Aishwarya, Abhishek and even Jaya are very active with your acting assignments. Does this feel good?
Well Jaya is very particular about the films she chooses. She used to do the odd film now and then. In fact she is currently in Dhaka shooting for a film. Yes, suddenly all of us in the family are busy with our individual careers. It’s nice.
You’re going to be doing a film called Budha (old man) next?
Well I have been offered this film by a director called Puri
Jagannath, the one who directed Pokiri that is the original version of Wanted. I haven’t had a chance to see Wanted but I’m told it’s good. Yes, I liked the script idea and he is developing it. It will happen after April 2010, I guess.
Paa banega grandpa said an astrologer on your recent birthday.
Yeah, well it is not in my hands to become a grandpa. Abhishek and Aishwarya have to want it to happen. It is their decision on when they choose to have their baby.
