Actress Shilpa Shetty, delivered the child in the early hours at a hospital in Khar, Mumbai. Raj, doting husband and proud father, was by Shilpa's side all through till the time of her delivery. He tweeted: "God has blessed us with a beautiful baby boy. Both mother and baby are fine. I am thrilled to bits!!!!!! A big thank you to my wife @TheShilpaShetty for the bestest gift ever."


Delivery was around 7 AM IST Monday morning, Raj Kundra let the world know on a micro-blogging site how happy he was to have been blessed with a baby boy.

Shilpa's mother and sister Shamita were present at the hospital along with Raj and his family. At about 11 am, Raj again tweeted and let the world know that both mother and baby were resting. The filmi world was prompt in wishing the couple and the baby. In fact, all who attended Shilpa's baby shower, which was hosted earlier this month by sister Shamita Shetty along with Kiran Bawa and Rupali Shah, sent their wishes to the couple. When contacted, Malaika Arora Khan said, "Congratulations to Shilpa and Raj! Of course, we will be visiting them." Actress Raveena Tandon Thadani too expressed her joy. "We will be visiting Shilpa and Raj as soon as Shilpa is allowed visitors. Congratulations to both of them." Even actor Arjan Bajwa extended his best wishes to the couple. He said, "Congratulations to both of them, for the new born baby boy. May his future be bright. Lots of love and best wishes."

Weight issues for Aishwarya

Weight issues force Aishwarya to skip Cannes?

Mumbai: All those who were waiting for a glimpse of Aishwarya Rai's daughter at the Cannes Film Festival this year would have to bite dust yet again.


Buzz has it that Ash might not attend Cannes Film Festival that is to be held from May 16.

While reasons of her backing out from the prestigious event may vary from work commitments to taking care of her baby, strong rumour doing the rounds suggest that she is skipping the annual event because of her weight.

Ash gained 'oodles of weight' after the birth of her daughter and when she was spotted in a fat avatar recently at an event, the pictures set off a buzz on the internet and social media.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been a regular at Cannes ever since she paved the way for Bollywood to be highlighted at international forums. And it was reported earlier that Ash would attend the event in the company of her 5-month old daughter.

Cannes Film fest holds a reputation of showcasing the best of the movies along with some avant garde fashion displayed by guests who attend the event. And, given Ash's current shape, her withdrawal from the event doesn't seem like a bad idea.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan may never return to Bollywood movies again

Ever since the news of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan becoming pregnant came out, we have not seen much of her. During her pregnancy she preferred staying at home and did not venture out even after the delivery. Though Ash is enjoying her motherhood, so much so that at present she has no movie in her kitty, except for Ladies and Gentlemen, which was supposed to get released in 2012. Ladies and Gentlemen is to be directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and Abhishek Bachchan is to play in the lead role opposite her. But now story is all together different, Ash was spotted with double chin and too much of weight, which make her chances of returning to the movies rare.

However, as of now we see no signs of her getting back on the sets. In the latest revealed pictures of Ash we could easily see that she has gained lots of weight, post pregnancy. And sadly she is making no effort of losing those extra kilos. In the few public appearances that she makes she has come as a shock, and from her present scenario it is clear that at present she is in no position to resume her acting career.

Nevertheless, we hope that former Miss World who has ruled the hearts of millions, continues to do so by entertaining her fans. As of now here's wishing her all the best and we hope to see a lot of her in the future.
