Is Ranbir Kapoor coming close to Deepika Padukone?

The relationship which looked like for keeps has apparently started showing the signs of wear and tear. Are Deepika Padukone and Siddharth Mallya heading for splitsville? It’s said that their relationship is showing its first cracks.

Though Deepika and Siddharth were busy painting the town red with their numerous public appearances, the couple always stayed away from commenting on their relationship status. But, if you try to remember the last time the duo made an appearance together, you would probably fail. It’s nearly about three months since Deepika and Siddharth stopped going together to the public events.

When Siddharth Mallya appeared for the Mumbai Marathon in January, Deepika was nowhere to be seen. According to sources, Siddharth’s refusal to publicly acknowledge their relationship has been a bone of contention between them, and more recently, Deepika’s growing proximity to former boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor apparently became an issue with Siddharth.

As a tabloid reported, Mallya Jr even confided in a friend that “the relationship is not working and heading nowhere.” On the other hand, Deepika is also trying to look unperturbed. She is reportedly putting up a brave front and is focusing on her career.

Now, the obvious question: Is Ranbir Kapoor coming close to Deepika Padukone? The actor recently gifted a piano to Deepika when he came to know about her interest in learning music.

Ranbir and Deepika are also doing a romantic film together. Deepika even said once that there are no issues anymore with Ranbir, and that she is now “good friends” with him. Deepika even partied with Ranbir on his 29th birthday.

It can be just a rough phase in their high-profile relationship or maybe Deepika Padukone and Siddharth Mallya are headed for a new beginning in their lives?

Among the many memorable moments at Colors Screen Awards held in Mumbai on Saturday, there was one that left everyone shocked: Ranbir Kapoor touching Deepika Padukone’s feet while receiving an award.

Now, the very idea to have Deepika Padukone give away the award for Best Actor (Male) seemed to have been pre-planned to put the two ex lovers face to face on stage. Filmmaker Subhash Ghai and Deepika Padukone were the presenters of the award and when Ranbir Kapoor was declared as the winner (for his performance in Rockstar), the young star did something unexpected.

He went on stage and, out of respect, touched the feet of Subhash Ghai. Then he turned to Deepika Padukone and touched her feet as well. An amused Deepika personally gave the award to Ranbir and hugged him. Earlier she had said that Ranbir’s performance in Rockstar moved her to tears.

Meanwhile, the rumour mills are already working in overdrive to speculate the reason behind Ranbir touching Deepika’s feet. Some say it was out of repentance for having cheated on her. But a source who was present at the award ceremony tells us that Ranbir’s gesture was purely out of fun and Deepika too took it sportingly.

Now, here’s an examples of two exes bonding without keeping any grudges from their past.

Beginning of the end of Katrina - Salman relationship ?

Did Katrina - Salman break up. Katrina Kaif is giving clear indiations by giving super friendly out of the way hugs to SRK. There have been link ups with Ranbir which now cannot be overruled.

Katrina Kaif even denied any romantic angle with handsome Kapoor boy Ranbir Kapoor, with whom she had worked in Raj Kumar Santoshi’s ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghajab Kahani’. Katrina’s point was clear that Ranbir Kapoor was a colleague and good co-star with whom she enjoyed good chemistry. It may be recalled that it was due to this crackling chemistry between Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor that Deepika Padukone had ditched him, suspecting that there was something more than met the eye.

Bollywood hero Salman Khan has been very unlucky in love, as many of his girlfriends have left him for other stars. And he should now be worried about his current girlfriend Katrina Kaif… for she has been seen partying at a club with hot new bod Ranbir Kapoor.

Ranbir and Katrina were seen at a club a few days ago, sitting together through the night immersed in chit-chat till 2.30 am. This was the first time that Katrina has attended a nightclub without Salman Khan since the two have been an item. And this is not the first time Ranbir and Katrina have met each other. Rumors are that the two have met previous to this on two occasions.

No matter what happens, and no matter how much Salman trusts Katrina, he should still be a little concerned. After, all Katrina is much much younger than him and Ranbir is more her age.

Katrina Kaif's birthday bash turned into a battle of superiority when the two Khans got into a brawl. The host of the party, Salman Khan who was already quite drunk when the SRK made his appearance with wife Gauri jeered at the latter's lower TRP in the Kya aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain? as compared to his Dus Ka Dum. A mature Shah Rukh initially let light of the matter but when the assaults became more caustic, he retaliated with comments on Salman's past relationship with Aishwarya Rai.

It is concluded that what irked Salman was Shah Rukh's refusal to do a cameo in the Khan brothers' film Main Aur Mrs. Khanna whereas the former had made a guest appearance in Om Shanti Om. Gauri Khan did end the skirmish by dragging her husband away, but the spat has caused a split in the industry with many people showing their undivided loyalties to the two stars. Most directors sided with the SRK while Salman had the support of his old time friends. Last heard, Kat is upset with Salman not apologising to SRK, and apparently, she is not in talking terms with Sallu miyan.

What's Katrina's Excuse ?

Katrina Kaif, the sizzling hot bollywood babe with superb track record of super hit flicks like ‘Singh Is Kingg’, ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghajab Kahani’, etc, at the box office, has denied any growing proximity with King Shah Rukh Khan terming her interactions to be just a formal one suitable with a senior colleague.

In fact, Katrina Kaif, who is known to be Salman Khan’s girlfriend in the industry, went on to clarify that she met Shah Rukh Khan only at filmi parties or some social functions and nowhere else, and so no ulterior motive should be ascribed to her innocuous meetings. Recently, Katrina Kaif was seen with Shah Rukh Khan at a function while Salman Khan had been busy with his shooting for upcoming flick ‘Dabanng’ in Wai. This had the tongues wagging in the B-town that Katrina Kaif was trying to join Shah Rukh Khan camp and distancing herself from Salman and company to further her career in bollywood.

The speculation was further fuelled by the fact that Katrina Kaif always refused to express her commitment to Salman Khan in public, while Sallubhai had gone on record claiming Kat to be his girlfriend. Katrina has always maintained that she would not say anything (and that include relationship with Salman) on her personal life in public.

Katrina Kaif has been flavor of bollywood for quite some time now and even managed to bag Farah Khan’s latest project ‘Tees Maar Khan’ opposite Akshay Kumar. Her bollywood career is likely to get further boost with filmmakers vying with each other to sign her for upcoming ‘Dostana 2’ and other prestigious projects. In fact, some producers in bollywood consider Katrina Kaif as lucky mascot for their films and want to have her at all cost.

Raj Kumar Santoshi's Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani is Awesome ..Full of fun. Audience likes it. It's a full on entertainer. Congrats to Katrina and Ranbir !!! One, the romance is livewire. Two, the film makes you laugh. As simple as that!
In Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, the romantic moments are endearing. Most importantly, the on-screen chemistry is electrifying. Ranbir and Katrina look great together!

I've often said that comedy is serious business and the audience has moved over from banana peel humour in movies. The comedy in Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani - though it borders on absurdity - is funny in most parts. Sure, there're times when you feel that the humour looks forced [climax fight especially], but you don't grudge it since Santoshi's intentions are crystal clear from Scene 1 onwards: Entertainment ke liye kuch bhi karega.

Another factor that goes in its favour is Pritam's music, who belts out a couple of lilting tracks.

On the flip side, the film could've done with a fresh plotline. When you talk of 'Ghazab Kahani', it has to be ghazab by all means. It shouldn't fall prey to predictability, but the second hour succumbs to mediocrity occasionally.

Yet, despite the blemishes, Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani is a full-on entertainer. One thing is for sure, you'd fall in prem with Prem and his antics. An ideal date movie that should connect with the youth.

Prem's [Ranbir Kapoor] fundas in life were very simple - be happy, make others happy. A case of mistaken identity leads Prem to almost kidnap Jenny [Katrina Kaif], who was brought up by indifferent and uncaring foster parents. Prem falls in love with Jenny, but realizes gradually that Jenny is in love with someone else [Upen Patel], the son of a conniving politician [Govind Namdeo]. Prem decides to sacrifice his love and get the lovers married.

In the first sequence, Santoshi makes it loud and clear that Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani is very unlike his previous ventures; this one harbours on illogical situations. Right from the time Ranbir sets his eyes on Katrina [the yellow outfit episode], the film is a roller coaster ride.

A few sequences entertain you thoroughly. Sample these: Katrina slaps Ranbir when he stammers as well. She feels he's imitating her; Ranbir's sequence in the church; Salman Khan's cameo; the love-hate relationship that Ranbir and his father [Darshan Jariwala] share; the sequence at the party; the interval point when Ranbir falls on the ground literally... the first hour of the film simply rocks!

But the second hour makes you a little grumpy. The third angle of the triangle [Upen Patel] isn't convincing, while his father's [Govind Namdeo] track is beaten to death. Even the villain [Zakir Hussain] is a sore point.

Watching the second hour makes you feel that the film may've had a longer running time and in order to bring down the length, a number of scenes must've been chopped off, which, in turn, must've resulted in continuity lapses. For instance, Katrina's kidnap by the villains looks too sudden. When and how did it occur?

Yet, there're two sequences in this hour which are remarkable and which should bring the house down. One, when Ranbir wears Katrina's top to hide her presence in the house and the climax fight, when Katrina mistakenly bangs Ranbir a couple of times.

Directorially, Santoshi proves the naysayers wrong and bounces back with a film that the youth would relate to. You can't write off the maker and Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani proves it. Pritam's music has 'Hit' written all over it. S. Thiru's cinematography is first-rate.

Ranbir Kapoor is the next big thing and Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani proves it yet again. He's charismatic, emotes exceptionally well and tickles your funny bone without making faces. It's a fantastic performance all the way. Katrina Kaif continues to surprise. She surprised you in NEW YORK. She surprises you again in this film. She scores in both emotional and light scenes. Also, Ranbir and Katrina make a wonderful on-screen couple.

Darshan Jariwala is exceptional. Smita Jaykar is very good. Upen Patel is decent. Govind Namdeo is getting typecast. Zakir Hussain is fair. Navneet Nishan is alright.

On the whole, Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani entertains majorly. At the box-office, the fantastic pre-release campaign coupled with the terrific chemistry between Ranbir and Katrina, excellent music by Pritam and tremendous appeal for youth should ensure a big start for the film at the ticket window. The business prospects seem excellent, thus ensuring handsome returns for its investors.

Ranbir and Deepika have split again !

The on-again and off-again relationship between love birds Ranbir and Deepika has finally ended according to sources. The demise of the Ranbir-Deepika relationship was hardly a shocker. But what propelled the two to call it a day? Here is the inside story behind the split.

The reason for this fight has been apprently Katrina Kaif! Sources inform, "Deepika had heard from her sources about Ranbir's growing comfortability on and off the sets of Rajkumar Santoshi's Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani during the two month long shooting schedule in Ooty.

Though rumours of a break-up have been brewing for a while, it's now clear that Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone have ended their relationship. Though various theories have been floating about the cause of their break-up, here's the real reason why the two have parted ways.

Immediate speculation will point to Ranbir's chemistry with Katrina Kaif. It's hasty to pin the blame on Katrina though, as Deepika had seemed insecure before the pretty actress came into the picture. And it's not Ma Kapoor that put the spanner in the works either.

Ranbir, after all, is a hot-blooded Kapoor. He is a natural charmer as far as women go and sooner or later, Deepika would have heard about his flirtations. Apparently, Ranbir isn't too modest about it either. Discretion about his less-than-innocent encounters would've been highly advisable, but he hasn't exactly been a posterboy for it so far. Common friends carried the news to Deepika, perhaps adding a bit of tadka for flavour.

This is when Deepika decided to call it off. Apparently, she told Ranbir to mend his ways since she had given a lot to this relationship. She had cut off ties with all her 'good friends' like Nihar Pandya and Yuvraaj Singh. So, she wanted Ranbir to give 100 per cent to the relationship as well. She kept hearing about his 'friendship' with Nandita Mahtani and other girls.

At this point of time, Ranbir started feeling suffocated in his relationship with Deepika. He asked for his space and Deepika justifiably wanted to know 'What space? Aren't we a couple?'

The final straw was hearing about his 'crackling chemistry' with Katrina. The next thing she did was to land up on the sets of Rajneeti in Bhopal, where Ranbir was shooting with Katrina. She stayed there for nearly two weeks.

After she came back from Bhopal, her relationship with Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh's son was almost over. The crack first became evident at Shabina Khan's birthday party two weeks ago where the two sat in different corners of the room.

And what about Neetu Singh? Mamma Neetu, who is said to have a very cold relationship with Deepika, did not play catalyst. A source says, "Neetu wants Ranbir to be happy. She will never go against his choice. Ranbir always treated Deepika as a girlfriend and not as someone special, basically there was no passion in their relationship."

From the very day she entered Bollywood, Deepika Padukone has been associated with someone or the other. First, she helped to give the much needed hype and glamour touch to the IPL cricket league, when she was allegedly paired with both Mahengra Singh Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh and her relation with both the cricketing stars became the talk of the town.

Few months back When asked about marriage, Ranbir said, "Marriage! Come on. I don't have any marriage plans in near future. Marriage is no where on my mind."

He adds, "Right now I am only concerned about my career and with a few films of mine due to release in near future, I am quite satisfied with my life at present and don't want to disturb it with marriage."

Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani is a romantic comedy movie involving the new pair Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif .. they are in lead roles.

Prem (Ranbir) is an curious type of chap. He is a president of Happy Club, where everyone is supposed to be happy. Ranbir is always trying to make everyone happy, but somehow it always ends up in tragedy. An altruistic, good natured and, most importantly, good-for-nothing guy kidnaps a shy, gorgeous girl who wants to keep away from troubles. The kidnapping is actually by mistake and that’s when the comedy starts.

Jenny (Katrina) is shy, charming and diligent girl who loves reading books.

When Mistakenly Prem kidnaps Jenny it starts the ajab chemistry between the two. Because now Jenny thinks he’s the worst manifestation on earth. Opps! But he thinks she’s beautiful. In his words, she’s “chalti firti vanilla ice cream”. She’s yummy.

But there’s a problem. Jenny wants a good guy who works. Well, Prem has never worked in life. Now he’s spending hours and hours churning out laddoos and frying jalebis in a Halwai shop. Sweat and Slurp!!!

Prem has always been a pure vegetarian. Now, he’s putting tigers to shame with all the chicken he’s eating. Whoa.. Anything karega for love .. Chomp…Chomp!!

And as icing on the wedding cake, he even helps Jenny in running away from her own wedding. With a furious father, frustrated bridegroom, greedy don and a wily politician running after them…Prem and Jenny have many odds against them.

Overall Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani is like a comedy of errors. Good luck to Katrina and Ranbir. This sweet jodi deserves a hit.

Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, the film has music by Pritam and action by Tinu Verma. The movie is slated to release on November 6.

Hard Kaur is heard once again in Follow Me which is a good track by itself and sounds better than its reprises.

Tu Jaane Na, a romantic number, is one of the best tracks what with Atif Aslam doing the vocals and Pritam composing some fabulous music. The reprise has Soham, Rana Mazumdar and Ashish Pandit but Kailash Kher’s unplugged version beats it easily.

The next song, Oh By God, is fun to listen to with its wedding themed beats and vocals by Mika and Sunidhi Chauhan.
