Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl Movie Review and Wallpapers
Story: Ricky Bahl ( Ranveer Singh), a young conman makes his monies by duping pretty young things -- Parineeti Chopra, Dipannita Sharma, Aditi Sharma -- with impunity. Until, the trio decide to take revenge by pitting a con girl -- Anushka Sharma -- against him. Is it checkmate time or is it time for redemption?
Movie Review: Maneesh Sharma struck the marquee with the offbeat Band Baaja Baraat. Indeed, a yardstick that would be hard to measure up to. And yes, his second film doesn't really match the zing and the verve of the first one.
Firstly, there is no humour, no earthy flavour (remember the vows on the bread pakora), no tingling chemistry between the lead pair -- everything which made the first film such a winner. More importantly, Anushka has a role only post-interval and the first half is devoted to his exploits with the other three girls. He dupes Parineeti and Aditi by pretending he's in love with them, Dipannita by selling her a fake Hussain painting. And then tries to con Anushka by selling her useless land at an exorbitant price. But somewhere down the singing and dancing, the duo steal a kiss and seal a new relationship: Voila! it's love at first kiss. Unconvincing, isn't it?
Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma are looking great together in Ladies vs Ricky Bahl.
What does work in favour of the film are its performances and its non-hysterical tenor. The girls are a spirited lot and Ranveer is, well Ranveer: your average Joe kind of hero who looks convincing enough as Sunny, Deven, Iqbal, Ricky, his sundry avatars. Music by Salim Sulaiman is ordinary. A word about Parineeti Chopra: cute.

Ladies vs Ricky Bahl brings back the Band Baaja Baaraat (BBB) team. Isn't that too soon?
We never planned the film to cash in on the success of BBB. It just so happened that director Maneesh Sharma had a script ready and he wanted us (Ranveer Singh and herself) for it.
Since your pairing with Ranveer clicked in a big way, is there pressure to recreate the same chemistry?
We don't take that pressure. Chemistry is not created by actors, it is on paper ' between the characters. Ranveer and I focus on doing our best. We just follow instructions, read our lines and give our best.
How would you appraise your career so far?
People feel that I became a star after my first film, I don't think so. Indeed Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi was a huge launch and I'm fortunate to have had it. It allowed me to not just look pretty but also perform. But there was very little hype about me. I didn't become an overnight star. I didn't go on a spree of signing big banners. There were no magazine covers proclaiming me as the next big thing. Nobody called me the "New It Girl". My recall, for all intents and purposes, will remain Band Baaja Baaraat. All the love and recognition came after it.
Anushka Sharma
You sound hurt. You feel you didn't get your due?
It's not about being hurt. I'm telling you as it happened. Today, I'm in a good place. I'm working with the best in the business. A couple of years back, I made a list of directors I wanted to work with, and next year I'm working with two of them ' Vishal Bhardwaj and Yash Chopra. But it hasn't been easy. I never enjoyed the feeling of having arrived, unlike Ranbir (Kapoor), Ranveer, Deepika (Padukone) or Sonakshi (Sinha). These guys became overnight stars. My struggle started after my dream debut, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, and went on till Band Baaja Baaraat.
Why do you think you were left out? Is it because your PR is weak?
I think I was too new. It took me a while to understand how this works. I was a real outsider. Look at today's newcomers, they are so polished and networked, they know what to say in front of whom, they have observed actors all their lives. I come from an army background. I'm from Bangalore. I cleared an audition and was put on the main stage in an Aditya Chopra film opposite Shah Rukh Khan. I was like a lost lamb.
The perception about you is that you are very aloof. Has that gone against you?
I can't hardsell myself. Mujhe sharam aati hai. I have a major pride issue. I feel if I'm good, you'll see it and give me what is due to me. People mistake this for arrogance. It's just that I'm proud of my talent, not of my stardom. With BBB, my talent got validated. I've decided to become selective about my work. I'll do one thing at a time and cater to the audience that has welcomed me. I don't think actors should have images. I don't think I need a PR to survive this industry.
Anushka with Ranveer
Shah Rukh Khan told me that you are the only actress in his entire career to have told him on his face that she doesn't like him. What made you do that?
(Blushes) I feel that people like Shah Rukh and Mr Bachchan who have achieved so much in life are good judges of people, so I shouldn't fake it in front of them. I couldn't lie to Shah Rukh and tell him that I was his fan because I hadn't seen too many of his films. I liked him in Swades and Chak De! India. But I've always said that he's my favourite co-star. I'm glad to be working with him again in Yashji's film.
The Yash Chopra film's press release says that the film stars Shah Rukh Khan with the "very beautiful" Katrina Kaif and the "very talented" Anushka Sharma. Does that take off the pressure to look good or put on the pressure to act well?
(Laughs) I didn't know how to react when I read that. I didn't know whether I should be happy that I'm talented or be sad that I'm not beautiful. I remember having this conversation with my father. I guess I'll have to find solace in Adi's words who told me, "We chose you because you can act and that beauty is not your USP." If you have to compare us, Katrina is definitely more beautiful. Being beautiful is important for films since it is a visual medium but the women I love have been such stellar performers that it adds to their beauty, like, Nargisji, Kajol, Rani Mukerji.
Ever lost out on a role because someone said you're not beautiful enough?
Yes. I've met directors who said they were looking for an actress who is "stunningly beautiful" and that I didn't look the part. It happened before BBB.
Does the pressure of looking good become too much?
I don't take the pressure. I'm mostly a trouser-and-top girl. If I don't feel like wearing a gown at an event, I don't wear it. If it were up to me, I'd always wear torn shirts and pants three sizes bigger.
There are rumours of you being anorexic. What's your relationship with food?
I love food. I'm careful not to eat unhealthy stuff. I don't like chocolates but I love everything else. I'm partial to butter and ghee. As for the anorexia rumours, I'd like to repeat what Kajol said the other day ' once you become an actor, you lose the right to feel hurt or anger. It upsets me to hear all this. It upsets my parents.
Ever feel you're getting typecast as the Punjabi kudi?
Anushka Sharma Hot Pics
I think people should appreciate that even though I'm from Bangalore, I get the Punjabi kudi role so right. My dad is from Uttar Pradesh, and my mom is from Garhwal. We have no connection with Punjab door door tak. It's too soon to typecast me. I just picked the best films that were offered to me. I'm happy to be perceived as an honorary Punjabi though.
But didn't you lose out a role in Habib Faisal's Ishaqzaade because your off-screen image is "too loud"?
It's so silly. I don't think my acting is loud, I rather think it's too subtle sometimes. Clearly, someone who doesn't like me made that comment which was carried in a newspaper. I was never supposed to act in Ishaqzaade. They always wanted a new girl.
What can you divulge about Vishal Bhardwaj's Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola?
Vishal is just so amazing. He's an actor's delight. He elevates you to a level where he says, "aap performer hain aur ab 3 second mein aap perform karne waali hain." The film is a rustic set-up but I'm the modern factor. My character is a firebrand and rebellious. I'm confident I'll walk out a better actor after this film.

Anushka Sharma Interview - Anushka talks fashion
*************************************************
Anushka, What is your idea of style?
Anushka Sharma: Where the clothes don’t overpower the person wearing them. If you look back in time, women such as Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Maharani Gayatri Devi and Princess Diana were known for a sense of style that was distinct, but never screamed for attention. They were never overwhelmed by what they were wearing. That is how I would describe my sense of style — one that’s intrinsic to my personality and age.
Anushka, What was the first fashionable outfit you ever wore?
Anushka Sharma: I was fascinated by the way my mom paired her bindis with sarees from different parts of the country. While I’m not much of a saree-person, I remember pulling out my mom’s saree from her cupboard as a kid and trying to drape it around me. Of course, the saree was incomplete without me trying to pair it with high heeled shoes, which were much too large for me. I must have been close to about 5 years of age at the time. I have to say this: It is because of my mother that I learnt so much at a very young age about the different kinds of sarees from various parts of the country.
Anushka, What is the one accessory you can’t do without?
Anushka Sharma: I’ve realised that I have a growing liking for shoes. This also translates into a growing collection of shoes!
Anushka, Have you ever mixed and matched trends?
Anushka Sharma: I remember that pairing cholis with jeans was a trend with my seniors in school, but I never took to the trend.
Anushka, Name one fashion trend that you just don’t understand.
Anushka Sharma: I don’t understand nail art. Also, I feel over-accessorising can kill the look.
Anushka, Name a celebrity whose fashion sense you admire/like.
Anushka Sharma : I think Kate Middleton has a wonderful sense of style. She’s young and balances her youthfulness with the responsibility of a young royal in the way she dresses. I think she’s a great inspiration to young women around the world.

The Dirty Picture - Movie review - Vidya Balan Rocks!!
Director Milan Luthria has complete control over the subject matter in almost every aspect - whether it's the story, grammar of milieu or exploring the psyche of the female protagonist. In his biographical account of a sex-symbol, while he explores the sensual side of Vidya Balan to the hilt, at the same time he also shows utmost sensitivity in not exploiting the premise in a way that the film turns vulgar in itself.
The Dirty Picture banks heavily on shock-value, sex-value and most importantly, script-value. It's an exceptional portrayal of an ordinary person's rise from scratch to extraordinary heights and her subsequent fall.
Viday Balan simply rocks in Dirty Picture
The movie is set against the colourful and entertaining setting of the South film industry of the 80s. It revolves around a girl's journey from a makeup artiste to a sex goddess. She battles fame, fortune and alcohol. The Dirty Picture does not focus on the sleaze, but the tragic story of the sex siren, who provided titillation to thousands of viewers, but died a lonely and tragic death.
IMG : Viday Balan
Vidya Balan has a role that she has never played before and she has delivered a brilliant performance. She surely wins the heart of the movie goers with her confident act in sizzling show and dare-bare sequences. As an ageing South Indian superstar, Naseeruddin Shah reminds us of the 1980s stars and his acts surely provoke claps, laughs and whistles among the viewers. Emraan Hashmi and Tusshar have also got totally new role. As a headstrong director, Emraan has delivered a bold act, while Tusshar appears fantastic in his role. Others like Anju Mahendru, Rajesh Sharma, Shivani Tanskale, Mangal Kenkre and Imran Hasnee have also done justice to their respective roles.
CAST AND CREW :
Producers: Ekta Kapoor and Dheeraj Shenoy
Director: Milan Luthria
Cast: Vidya Balan, Naseeruddin Shah, Emraan Hashmi, Tusshar Kapoor, Anju Mahendru, Rajesh Sharma, Shivani Tanskale, Mangal Kenkre and Imran Hasnee

The Dirty Picture has a rich production values and Vishal-Shekhar's music is the major attraction in the technical front. Veena Malik sues FHM India magazine over revealing photo Pakistani actress Veena Malik is suing an Indian men's magazine over a revealing photoshoot, saying it was doctored, her lawyer has told the news agencies.
Ms Malik felt "cheated and duped" by FHM India, which "tampered" with the photoshoot, Ayaz Bilawala said.

FHM India has been asked to withdraw all copies from newsstands and pay $2m in damages, he said.
Editor Kabeer Sharma told the news channels the claims were false and that he had video to prove the shoot's authenticity.
'Loss of reputation'
The actress is shown sporting the initials ISI on her arm. The photos for the December issue have caused a sensation in Pakistan for both the nudity and the initials of Pakistan's controversial Inter-Services Intelligence spy agency.
"Ms Malik has been cheated and duped. She had a photoshoot, but there was no nudity. She had some clothes on," Mr Bilawala told the news channels.
"In the photos that were shown to her [for approval] she had her clothes on.
"She has suffered from a loss of reputation and we are demanding damages and withdrawal of the magazine from newsstands," he said.
The legal notice says FHM India "intentionally induced our client to take photographs with clothes on and have subsequently tampered with and/or morphed the photographs with a deliberate intent to cheat our client".
FHM's editor confirmed to the news channels that it had received the legal notice.
"We have seen the notice and forwarded it to our legal department for appropriate action," Mr Sharma said.
"All the allegations are false and we are looking at various options, including filing a countersuit," he said.
After the controversy broke, Mr Sharma told the news channels that the idea to have ISI written on her arm was his and it was Veena Malik's idea to have it in block letters.
He said that the image was intended to be playful, saying that: "In India we joke about this... if anything goes wrong... we say the ISI must be behind this."
The ISI has been in the headlines in recent months after senior US officials accused it of supporting militants based in Pakistan's tribal areas who target Western troops in Afghanistan.
In September the most senior US military officer Adm Mike Mullen said that the Haqqani militant network "acts as a veritable arm of Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence Agency".
Pakistan has vehemently denied such allegations.
The actress has been at the centre of controversy before.
She caused outrage among conservative circles in Pakistan for appearing on the Indian reality show Bigg Boss in 2010. She hit the headlines again in March this year by challenging the views of a Pakistani cleric on television.
